Fitting In

Devotionals

23 avril 2026

Part of being in the family of Jesus Christ is that we always fit in.

Ready:

“That they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one.” —Jean 17:21-22

Set:

It happens on almost every team. At least one player feels like they don’t fit in. There are many tough moments and a lot of heavy conversations about fitting in. Players who are friends before the season, continue their friendship during the season. They hangout, they wear the same gear, they spend time at each other’s house, they go to the same movies, they are in the same classes at school. They are together almost all the time. It’s hard to break into that friendship circle.

The answer to this internal struggle and quest is Jesus. It is who He is, what He did for us and what He does now for us, when and where we will be together in eternity. It is His ability and effort that makes all the difference for us to be part of His team and to, for always and forever, fit in.

He is like the coach who sees each player for who they are, what they have, and what they bring to the team. This coach then makes sure each player has what they need and who they need to be successful. They coach and build strength, skill and success in their players. This is the great answer to our longing to fit in. When we fit in with Jesus, we don’t have to fret about fitting in with others. Part of being in the family of Jesus Christ is that we always fit in with other believers, and they with us. Jesus made this possible to enable us and empower us to be together. One team together, with one goal of glorifying God. Through Jesus we do fit in!

Go:

  1. When did you have the struggle of wanting to fit in? What did you do to try and fit in?

  2. What is one thing that Jesus helps you with to fit in?

1 Thessaloniciens 2:12
Romains 8:28
Romains 12:5

Overtime:

“Lord Jesus, thank You for all the great work You did to allow me to participate with You and to fit into Your family. I sometimes struggle to fit in, but knowing it is true that You made it all possible for me, I don’t need to struggle, I just need to participate. I need Your strength. Thank You for Your promises that makes this all possible. I trust You. I love you. Amen.”
