God has the ability and power, to increase your impact.

Ready:

“Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us – to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”Éphésiens 3:20-21

Set:

Athletes will often hear things like “you have great potential” or “with good coaching, you can become a higher-level athlete” or “keep putting in the hours and hard work and you’ll become a better athlete.” These comments are true with hard work, good coaching, practicing, studying the game and competing, you will become a better athlete. It is a great feeling, and a real confidence builder, when you dig in, work hard and find better success in the game. We can often do more than we think we can.

Ephesians 3:20-21 makes a powerful declaration about God. He is able. He is all powerful. He can do far more than we could ever think or imagine. He can do more than we could ever ask. He does this by His power; the same power that is at work in us. The underlying meaning of the word power is more power than whatever is needed. With hard work and great effort, you can increase your athletic skill and ability. You may even create more opportunities to compete at higher levels.

But greater than all of this, God has the ability and power, to increase your impact, your ability to build incredible character. He can do this. He wants to do this. And it’s more than you can imagine, think and ask. If it’s more than you can imagine or think, what can you imagine for your potential and possibility? Have you asked Him for these things? What has He shown you about your opportunities? You were made for more.

Go:

  1. Do you feel like there is more for you to accomplish in your sport? How are you working to develop yourself?

  2. How might the Lord be leading you to pray for bigger things?

Workout:

Philippiens 1:6
Éphésiens 2:10

Overtime:

“Dear Jesus, You made me for more. Help me understand more about Your design of me. Give me more insight of Your ability to create more in me and through me. I ask for more in my sport life and more of You in all of my life. I trust You with my life. Amen.”
