"Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest." - Matthew 9:37-38

She died in 1966 and never saw her prayers answered, but they were answered – probably beyond her wildest dreams. In the late ’70’s, I remember visiting my Grandma and hearing stories of her fervent prayers during the church prayer meetings. Literally and figuratively, she would cry out to God on her hands and knees, lying flat before the Lord. She prayed that God would use one of her four sons as a harvest worker to be a missionary or pastor. After she died, one son went on a mission trip to Kenya and served a mission organization. Two grandsons became pastors. Four great granddaughters all went on mission trips.

We never know when God is going to answer our prayer to send workers, but we know the key is prayer. As you serve your team, as a coach or athlete, pray with passion that the Lord would send more workers to come alongside you to reach your team for Christ. That needs to be plan A for you. Your time with this team is short and the Lord wants to use you.
