Ready:
“Instead, his delight is in the LORD’s instruction, and he mediates on it day and night.” —Psalm 1:2
Set:
A two-a-day practice is when athletes do two training sessions in the same day—usually one in the morning and another in the afternoon or evening. There is an emphasis on endurance and fitness as well as an emphasis on understanding positions and plays.
Remember those days? Most athletes dread two-a-day practices. They were hard and exhausting. But you made it through and you were better prepared for the season.
God wants us to do two-a-day practices too. The action is mediating day and night on His Words. Just like coaches who know that there are certain requirements and fundamentals of the game, God knows the requirements and fundamentals of living, so He wants us to practice and practice some more.
God's Word is given to provide for us and protect us. They provide what we need for life and godliness, the requirements of love, grace, honesty, serving, honest effort and more. These Words also protect us from wrong motives, attitudes, thoughts, words and actions. Having both aspects sets us up for a strong life.
What God wants is that we meditate on them day and night. First, know His Word and second, meditate and practice them. Just like in your sport you love, it’s one thing to know the plays, and it’s another thing to actually practice them and do them in the game.
Take delight in God’s Words, mediate on them and practice them day and night. They are the way to real life. The reward, the fruit, the result is that your life will make a real difference.

Describe a time you had two-a-day practices.
Have you looked into God’s Word so that you know His Word and practice what His Word says?

Overtime:
"Lord God, thank You for being perfect and that Your laws are perfect. Help me to know Your Words, to delight in them, and to actually practice them. Your Words are Your way to true life, and I want this true life. Guide me in the everlasting way. In Your name I pray, amen.”
