There are three important parts of verse Hebrews 10:24-25 that can have direct application to our team and competition:
• How We Can Motivate--This implies that serious thought should be given to each member of the team. Where motivation is concerned, one size does not fit all. Let’s give a real effort to understand each member of the team.
• How We Can Motivate One Another--What stirs up a great performance in you may not affect me at all and vice versa. One teammate may require a pat on the back while another may be better motivated by a strong challenge. We must consider what will motivate and excite each person most effectively.
• Love and Good Works--We all know plenty of competitors who get strongly motivated, but it’s not always towards love and good works. The idea is not to simply encourage them, but to motivate them towards the things that make for the highest level of success for the team.
As you compete today, pursue the motivational keys that bring out the best in each of your teammates.

What is it that best motivates you to compete at your highest level?
Are you motivated by challenge?
Are you driven by the thrill of winning?
Are you provoked to excellence by the fear of losing?
What do you perceive to be some of your teammates’ primary motivation in competition?

Father, thank You for my teammates. They are gifts to my soul and to our team. Please help me to pursue the best for each one and for our team as a whole. Help us find ways to motivate each other to love and good works. I pray and seek Your wisdom in the strong name of Jesus.
