Ready:

Set: 

Athletes and coaches know that there are certain character qualities that makes or breaks them. One cannot hide behind their behaviors. You can say who you are, but your actions speak louder. Some of the desired character traits for competitors are honesty, integrity, discipline, commitment, resilience and excellence. There are other qualities that you may embrace and practice. For many it takes hard work to build this kind character but it’s worth it for life in competition and out.   

The Bible is clear too about building character qualities that help people excel in spiritual life and development. These spiritual qualities help to keep you ready for every good work and to keep you strong as you face the challenges of daily life. The instructions in the Bible are good for leading you to living a pure life. They keep you from sinning against God. By following the commands and guidance from the Bible, you are kept from wandering and straying into behaviors that are destructive and cause difficulties and harm.   

Christ honoring, healthy and good behaviors come from embracing God’s instructions from the Bible. Just like it takes practice and development for character qualities such as honesty or integrity, practicing and developing what God tells you is really worth the practice. The payoff in life is tremendous.
