Game Day has so many different aspects of it. The excitement of the coming competition is intense. The preparations for the game during the week have been exact and intense. Everyone’s chewing gum because of the nervous tension rising. Your game day gear is in your bag. The atmosphere in the locker room is tense. Coaches are on a heightened mental space. The community fan base has shown up and they’re ready to see the game and cheer you on. All of this is such a great experience.

Imagine this same intensity of a Game Day in our beginnings with Jesus Christ. In a real and true sense, it is actually a greater day, much greater, with an eternal impact and result coming with it. The day when an athlete or coach realizes that Jesus is the Savior is the greatest day. Coming to know that He gave up His life on the cross and resurrected from the dead three days later and that He invites each one to come and receive forgiveness and a brand-new life is amazing. It’s the beginning of a new life and journey to be lived with Jesus.

The Scripture above is clear – today is the day of salvation. Today. Right now. This moment. God says I hear you and I will help you. This is some of the greatest news you’ll ever hear. This great Game Day goes on and on and on forever.

3. This Game Day begins a new life and a journey. It’s not an event but a daily walk with Jesus. This road is the road of discipleship – becoming more and more like Jesus.
