That moment is a picture of how God works with us. Paul coaches Timothy to “be ready in season and out.” That’s not just for pastors or preachers—it’s for anyone who follows Jesus. We don’t always get advance notice. Sometimes, God sends us an unexpected opportunity: a hurting friend, a chance to speak life or a moment to lead. The question is, are we spiritually ready to receive the pass and take the shot?
It’s not always about having the ball—it’s always about being ready when your moment arises. God is the point guard. He sees the whole court. He runs the play. But you’ve got to be ready when the pass comes your way. Leadership starts with awareness. Your influence doesn’t begin when you score, it begins when you see and seize opportunities to make a difference.
Encourage a teammate. Stand-up for someone. Text a verse to a friend who needs encouragement. That’s how Kingdom scoring takes place.
