Ready:

Set:

Before the beginning of time, God was here. We can’t comprehend and understand that He is before time and is without a beginning. God revealed Himself to us, inside of time, by using some of His names. He told Abraham that he was El Shaddi, God Almighty, the God who nurtures what He has created. He used the title name to Moses, “I AM”, the always existing One. When David wrote Psalm 90, around 1000 BC, he refers to God as being from eternity to eternity. God has no beginning and has no ending. He’s called the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End.

When we think of the all-time greatest athletes and coaches, who they are and what they did, and how their lives and examples stand out today, we are inspired and moved. We speak of them, we honor them, we train and develop skills to get better to be like them. We follow them on social media. We attend games to see them and maybe get a high-five. When we think of God all of this should happen even more. He is our Creator. He made us for Himself. He wants an eternal relationship, an eternal connection, an eternal life, with us. He’s not just a God out there somewhere that we can know, but He is a God who is right here. He’s with us for eternity.

Most of all and most importantly, God is from eternity to eternity. He invites us into eternal life. This life is far greater than anything else. It is great to know the greatest of all time athletes and see their efforts and accomplishments. But God stands for above and beyond. We need to get closer and closer to Him. We need to allow Him to build and develop our lives. We need to trust Him with everything.

If you haven’t invited God into your life, right now is the best time to join His team. There are no tryouts. You simply come and ask, and He brings you onto His team. Remember this statement made by Jesus in John 17:3, “This is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and the one you have sent - Jesus.”
