All You Have

God is pleased when we simply bring to Him everything we have. Read about a poor widow who did just that.

Mark 12:41–44

In this Scripture passage, Jesus is sitting near the place people would put their temple offerings. He saw a number of people give their offering, many of them were rich and put in a lot of money. But then, He saw a poor widow come to the offering place. As a widow, she didn’t have much money at all. Yet, she gave. Her offering was just a couple small coins. It would be like two pennies to us. But those two tiny coins had huge meaning.

Jesus told his listeners to come to Him. He had something very important to teach them. He told them lots of people came and gave that day, and many gave something because they were rich. But this woman gave even though she was poor. She gave God everything she had, and she trusted Him with it. Jesus said, because of that, she gave more than all the others.

God is honored and pleased when we simply bring to Him everything we have. He is the One who gave us our skills, gifts, and talents. When we offer all we are and all we have to Him, it’s amazing what He will do with it and how closely we can follow Him.

  1. Why is it hard to give your all to anything (a sport, school, or even God)?

  2. Why is it worth it to give God the best of your thoughts, attention, and efforts?

  3. What are some ways you can give God your all?

Colossians 3:23-24
Revelation 4:10-11
Romans 11:36

Lord, give me a desire to offer all of me to You. Create in me a heart that wants to honor You with my words, actions and time. You have given me all that I have. Thank You for the skills and talents You created in me. I pray I honor and glorify You! In Jesus’s name, amen.
