The Bible begins and ends with a wedding, symbolizing God's love for us, with the church as the bride awaiting the return of Christ, the bridegroom. As believers, we all have a role to play in this divine narrative, just as every part of the body has a unique function. John the Baptist exemplified this by preparing the way for Jesus, understanding his role in God’s plan. We are called to be ready for Christ’s return, living with urgency and preparing ourselves spiritually, much like a bride prepares for her wedding. The church must be blameless, full of the Spirit and devoted to God, always staying close to Him, just as a husband and wife grow closer through shared time. In times of doubt or challenge, believers must rely on God’s promises, fight for presence in His Word and prayer and remain in fellowship with other believers. Ultimately, true greatness and joy come from oneness with God and with each other, creating a legacy of faith.
