Introduction: Greatness

Jesus redefines greatness in Mark 9:30-37 by teaching His disciples that true greatness comes not from worldly recognition, but through humility and servanthood. When they argued about who was the greatest, Jesus emphasized that the first must be last and a servant to all, illustrating this by welcoming a child, showing that greatness lies in embracing the least among us. True greatness is not found in temporary achievements, but in knowing God’s presence, understanding our identity in Him, diving into the depths of Scripture, and living in victory through Jesus. Ultimately, greatness is found in oneness with God and with each other.
